Congratulations to Bilal Ahmad recently announced as a Covidence Student Ambassador. An initiative to encourage more students to start their evidence journey.
Bilal is a researcher at Khyber Medical University (KMU) with four years of experience working on mental and public health projects in Pakistan. He has expertise in qualitative and quantitative data analysis using NVIVO and STATA. Bilal worked at the Institute of Psychiatry (IOP, Rawalpindi) as part of the original NIHR IMPACT in South Asia 2018-2022 research team on the “Smoking Cessation Support for People with Severe Mental Illness: IMPACT 4S Study”. He is skilled in systematic reviews, using Covidence, Rayyan, and spreadsheets for data screening and extraction, and R and RevMan 5.0 for meta-analysis. His proficiency in these tools can be attributed to the training he received from Dr. Gerardo Zavala (Lecturer, Department of Health Sciences, University of York).
Bilal contributed to two systematic reviews exploring the prevalence of weight in people with SMI and co-authored a scientific paper on mental health laws in Pakistan and public perceptions of behavioral modification in the COVID-19 pandemic in Pakistan.
Covidence Student Ambassador Program
The Covidence Student Ambassador Program is a global initiative that aims to encourage more students to start their evidence journey. The Covidence student ambassadors are passionate about research and dedicated to the mission of creating trustworthy and actionable knowledge. Along the way, they will develop their own skills and share their experiences with Covidence’s global community of researchers. The program provides a unique opportunity for students to become experts in Covidence and expand their networks. As an ambassador, Bilal will help encourage others to try Covidence by sharing his experience. Over a period of four weeks, the Ambassadors will plan, prepare and deliver a Covidence training event at their institution.
The Covidence Community Team were pleased to welcome 22 students from around the world to their 2023 student ambassador program. Read the Covidence Blog to find out more and meet all the 2023 Student Ambassadors.
